“ Two points. I have touted you to everyone, telling them that if they need new boots they should build a ski trip to Utah around your shop. One of my friends, Jerry Novick, is doing just that. He will be out in a few weeks and will call you. Second, I always have the fantasy that new gear will transform my skiing, but I don't really believe it. “ During the last 6 months I have had the pleasure of getting my ski boots custom fit and orthotics made by Jeremy Middlemiss. I had previously made 5 visits to 2 ski shops and still had problems with a hallux valgus deformity. Jeremy heated and stretched my ski boots and did a ski orthotic that has worked for climbing all day in addition to downhill skiing. Jeremy recently made orthotics for my hiking boots. He did a before and after video of how he corrected my gate disturbance. “ I just want to tell you how good my boots felt that last day of skiing I had on 2/5/12. I, for the first time in my skiing years--- No ankle pain/ sore spots. My ankles had tender spots due to 11 previous days of skiing and those tender spots did not even hurt. I actually have more pain in my work boots at home,and they are fitted, until they heal. I will stop when I come back this/ next year and review a pressure point in my right instep but it was no pain just a little pressure that was basically painless but may need some adjustment. I have a friend who came out to ski and has pain. I am telling him to not buy boots until he comes out next year. Call ahead, make apt, get fitted and ski first day on old boots if need be to give you good feedback. I will make him aware of costs but tell him how I feel it is so worth it ”

I have skied for over 20 years and, like many others, view skiing as a key means of exercise, stress relief and an overall essential part of life. Jeremy took a couple of hours measure my feet and try on several pair. Once he made a recommendation, he fit me with an orthotic to fix a defect in my stance. I feel for the extra service, you definitely get your money's worth. The boots worked great except for one issue. My new boots had a hot spot. I took them in, got the issue diagnosed and fixed, all within a few hours. It is impossible to get that kind of service at a national chain. Great family business. “ I was fit for a pair of alpine boots in 2008. At the time my grandpa paid for my boots and the fitting, as I never would have been able to afford it (student at the time). Here I am 6 years later still skiing in the same boots! At the time I thought it was silly it was so expensive, but now after buying a pair of touring boots on my own and having them be the bane of my existence (while touring- OUCH) and feeling the bliss and control of my alpine boots year after year, I understand the cost. Just recently, again 6 years after I bought the boots, I went to get a new power strap and they were super friendly and helpful and treated me and my beatup boots like they did 6 years ago. They know things about your feet and legs and how they'll fit in boots better than anyone. Well worth it. Anyone wanna fund my second pair?? 🙂 ”

After trying a number of other boots and not feeling that level of support we ended up with the Head boots. Earl and Jeremy worked their magic to give me the feel of both ``edges`` of my feet and expand the toe to allow a little extra toe room Earl assured me I needed. Having got used to clamping down my feet in my old boots these boots feel and ski with perfection. I can think of rolling edges and it just happens. Easy to pressure the tips to pull around or press the tails to drive off a mogul. These boots have made skiing my old faithful MX98 or new carbon MX84 a breeze.
